started the series of super–fidelity crossovers with a version
for the legendary BBC monitor LS3/5a, which is worldwide still
one of the best »mini« loudspeakers.
The Spendor BC1 is also a legendary speaker design, and since
1969 it has been the ‘benchmark’ of a really neutral
and dynamic speaker.
The cicable crossovers are available for all known BC1xxx versions...
• BC1 STD [also known as 3way or MK2 version]
• BC1 Germany
• BC1 Special Edition
• BC1 69 [replica of the original 2way version]
• BC1 Mk3
• BC1Active [different models and versions]
• BC2 [an former »power« version of the BC1]
At
present crossovers for the BC1mk3 and BC1 69 are available. Other
BC1xxx xovers will be available to Nov–2001.
A special feature is the added suck circuit linearising the
impedance response for all BC1xxx versions. Beside from this
all features and specs are the same as for the LS3/5a version

Because of all the different BC1 versions which were made during
the last 30 years we don't supply a »customer questionnaire« ,
– please contact us so we are able to supply you with a well matched
crossover for your individual BC1 speaker.
We can report from one of the first listening tests that
the effect of the new BC1 xover are greater and more impressive
than in combination with the LS3/5a speakers. This is probably
caused by the extended low–frequency response and the fact that
the BC1 has a reflex port and the more critical acoustical crossover
between the 8« unit and the tweeter in the 3kHz area
Conclusion:
If
you, as an owner of the BC1, still want to hear it at »its
best« an upgrade with the cicable xover is well recommended.
This is surely far more sensible than an investment in some of
the expensive accessories that are around. – Call us and we will
