One of the major problems of digital interconnections is the correct power transfer of the pulse code modulated digital signals. As opposed to low frequencies [i.e. analogue] interconnections a maximum of transfered power is essential.

One of the aspects is the correct cable–connector matching with minimum loss.

Many in/outputs of equipment as well as cable interconnections do not fulfil this minimum requirement.

One criteria for best power transfer characteristic is the amount of damping of reflections at the receivers end. The damping, expressed in decibels [dB] can mathematically transformed and expressed as impedance. The optimum is when the reflection is minimal or / and the impedance is constant over a wide frequency band.

This basic principle gave the name for all our products because cicable stands for constant impedance cable«.
